Process
Here is the process of what it might be like to get your ears pierced at a professional piercing studio and at Rowen.
(I'm only explaining those two because that's where I got my ears pierced.)
I recommend getting your ears pierced at a professional piercing studio. At a professional piercing studio, the employees spend hours training how to pierce ears safely, and also the risk of getting an infection is less. This is also a good choice if you tend to have sensitive ears/skin (I did!) Rowen is also a good choice
My ear piercing experience at a professional piercing studio.
At a professional piercing, you have to make an appointment first. When you walk in, you are greeted as you check-in. You need your birth certificate and your parent's driver's license to be registered. Then you need to fill out some forms, and you get to pick your earrings from a big glass case! Then, they will point out the separate glass case with the smaller earrings, and you get to pick which ones you like. You wait on the couch until they call you back to the room.
There are two piercing rooms. When you are in the piercing room, you sit on the table, and the piercer will make sure you want to get your ears pierced, and then the real fun begins. The piercer will then clean and mark your ears. You can look at the marks to make sure they are in the right spot. The piercer will ask you to lay down while getting the needle and earrings ready. Your parents can hold your hand if you are nervous. Your piercer will then ask you to breathe in and out, and when you exhale, they will pierce the ear! They will do the same on the other side.
There might be a sucker when you’re done!
My ear piercing experience at Rowen.
(This was when Rowen was still at Target, not at their studio.)
Before I went, I made an appointment online and picked out a few pairs of earrings I liked. When I got to Target, I found the area where Rowen was doing piercings, and checked in with my piercer. I was the only one there so I got to get pierced right away. After I confirmed what earrings I wanted, I got my ears marked where I wanted pierced (my second hole). She gave me the options for piercing me with no notice or by counting down (I chose counting down). And voilà! I had earrings! It was a very easy process.
